A fantastic surprise today – éclairs on my home turf! Just when I thought I was safe from the call of choux pastry…and when I had resigned myself to the fact that I would never taste a great éclair until I returned to France. This was on par with the best I have tried. Nice and light without all the sugary jazz.
But it gets even better. The éclair had friends – a chocolat chaud and a very delectable tart. The chocolat chaud was equal to Jacques Genin and Angelina, but in a manageable cup size and not a jug.
